Last updated: 3 November 2026. These policies apply to purchases made directly through the Tomphonics Academy Store at tomphonicsacademy.store.

What information we collect, why we need it, how we protect it and the choices you have.

Who is responsible for your information

Tomphonics Academy runs this store and is responsible for the personal information described here. Contact us at tomphonics@gmail.com.

Information we collect

  • Identity and contact details, such as your name, email address and phone number.
  • Billing details you enter at checkout, such as your country and address.
  • Account and purchase records, including your order history, payment status and transaction references. Card details are handled by Flutterwave; we do not see or store your full card number.
  • If you choose to sign in with Google, the name, email address and profile picture Google shares with us.
  • Support messages and other communication with us, and any reviews you choose to submit.
  • Technical information needed to run and protect the store, such as your browser and device type, and the IP address used for an order or a sign-in attempt, which helps us prevent fraud and block attacks on accounts.

How we use your information

  • Create and secure your account.
  • Process orders, confirm payments and deliver your books to My Library.
  • Show your email address as a faint watermark on the pages of books you read, to discourage copying.
  • Send service messages such as receipts and account emails.
  • Provide support, prevent fraud, investigate abuse and protect the store.
  • Improve our books and the store.
  • Send educational or promotional messages only where permitted. You can opt out at any time.

Sharing and international processing

We do not sell your personal information. We share only what is reasonably necessary with trusted service providers that help us run the store: Flutterwave (payments), our website host, our email delivery service, Google (if you use Google sign-in, and for the web fonts our pages load), and backup and security tools. We also disclose information where the law requires it.

Some of these providers process information outside Nigeria. Where this happens, we take reasonable steps to use appropriate contractual, security and legal safeguards.

Retention, security and cookies

We keep information only as long as needed to provide access to your books, keep accurate transaction records, meet legal and accounting duties, resolve disputes and protect the store. We use reasonable technical and organisational safeguards, although no online system can promise absolute security.

The store uses essential cookies for sign-in, your cart, checkout and security. We do not currently use advertising or tracking cookies. If that changes, we will update this policy and ask for your consent where the law requires it. You can restrict cookies in your browser, but sign-in and checkout may stop working.

Your privacy rights

Subject to applicable law, you can ask to access, correct or delete your personal information, object to or restrict certain processing, withdraw consent, or ask how your data is used. Some transaction, fraud-prevention or legal records may need to be kept. Send any privacy request to tomphonics@gmail.com. You may also complain to the Nigeria Data Protection Commission.

Children

The store is designed for adult educators, school leaders, parents and professionals. We do not knowingly create accounts for children without a parent or guardian involved.
